The special feature of this five volumes set of Eight Principal Upanishads is the English translation of the commentaries of Shankara, the greatest exponent of the Advaita system of philosophy. This makes it possible for the English-reading public to appreciate the priceless teachings of the Upanishads, in the light of the interpretation of Sri Sankaracharya. The volumes 1, 2 & 5 were translated by S. Sitarama Sastri and volumes 3 &4 by Ganganatha Jha.

Mishraji,
ReplyDeleteThe files in your folder are the same as the ones posted by me. I think you did not notice this fact.
Hello Shankar,
ReplyDeletePlease read the post carefully and unhurriedly, before replying.
Very clearly I mentioned that, I have additional: Shankarachrya's bhashya on Mandukya, Brihadaranyaka Upnishads (& also Madhava’s commentary on major Upanishads) available in my shared directory. Your post doesn’t have these. I just wanted to make your list complete.
I appreciate your effort and I too, tried to contribute something rather than sitting idle.
Thanks & regards,
Sabyasachi Mishra
Mishraji,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your words of appreciation. I really admire your commitment to this noble work.
I too have these books (commentaries on Brihadaranyaka & Mandukya). But, I have not included them in this post because they were not published as part of this series.
I am now adding their links at your suggestion, so that it will benefit those who do not have these e-books.
Hello Shankara,
ReplyDeleteNikhilananda's translation of Mandukya & Karika, is better than the translation, I posted. I was searching for it.
Thanks a lot for your post.
